Climate Ready Now!

Climate Justice Dialogue Series

Building community resilience for the times ahead

Climate change is transforming our communities. At the same time, we’re facing rising costs, growing inequality, biodiversity loss, and uncertainty about the future. Many people feel disconnected from the decisions shaping their lives, even as the need for community voices and collective action grows.

This fall in Victoria, GSA’s Climate Ready Now! campaign is bringing people together for a series of conversations, creative activities, and shared experiences exploring what it means to build resilient coastal communities.

The Climate Justice Dialogue Series will connect residents, community organizers, researchers, artists, Indigenous leaders, local governments, and organizations to explore how we can navigate uncertainty, strengthen community connections, and create a more just and resilient future.

Through participatory dialogues, workshops, panel discussions, community walks, artistic explorations, and shared meals, we’ll explore topics including climate emotions and community care, democracy, justice and belonging, climate adaptation, resilient food systems, and our relationships with the places we call home.

Along the way, we’ll celebrate practical solutions already taking shape across our region and explore opportunities to connect, organize, and take meaningful action.

At its heart, this series is about building community power. Because resilience isn’t just about withstanding change; it’s about coming together to shape the future we want for our communities.

#1 Sustainable Organizing for Sustainable Seas

Intergenerational wisdom for troubled times

Sunday, October 25 | 2–4:30 pm | theDock, Victoria

With so many overlapping challenges facing our communities, how do we sustain the energy and momentum needed to create lasting change?

For the first gathering in our Climate Justice Dialogue Series, we’re exploring what sustainable organizing looks like, both for the movements we build and the people who power them.

Together, we’ll consider how to strengthen our campaigns, share resources, and sustain collective action over the long term, while also making space for changing capacities, shifting priorities, rest, and renewal.

This facilitated, interactive workshop is an opportunity to share experiences, learn across generations, and explore new ways to keep our movements going. You don’t need to have the answers. Just bring your experiences, questions, and curiosity.

Join us for a conversation about sustainable organizing for sustainable seas.
