Clean Marine BC Coordinator
Clean Marine BC CoordinatorJacob Banting has held the role of Clean Marine BC Coordinator since April 2023. After managing a Clean Marine certified non‑profit harbour authority on the upper Sunshine Coast, he now leads our marina eco‑certification and clean boating program. Jacob brings a strong understanding of marine facility operations and environmental protection planning, with training in spill prevention, containment, and management. His work spans three core areas: environmental assessments of marine facilities, public education and community outreach, and marine‑protection advocacy.
He focuses on strong networking and a collaborative mindset, building effective relationships with marinas, harbour authorities, community partners, coastal First Nations, and regional organizations to advance shared stewardship goals.
Jacob lives on the traditional territory of the Tla’amin Nation (ɬaʔamɩn) . He enjoys exploring the many waterways and backcountry of the qathet region with his dog, Tom.
