After falling in love with B.C.’s coast during her childhood summer vacations, Tessa moved from Calgary to Victoria where she earned a BSc in Biology and Psychology. She joins GSA with a background in project management and geographic information systems (GIS), having worked as a research technician and coordinator of the B.C. Cetacean Sightings Network. When Tessa’s not involved in marine conservation, you can find her cooking, cycling or on a scavenger hunt. She lives in North Vancouver, on the traditional and unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples, with her partner and very cute rescue dog, Burger.
