Orca awareness month

photo: Rachael Merrett

We are celebrating British Columbia’s 2nd annual Orca Awareness Month this June! Joined by Washington and Oregon, this month is dedicated to celebrating the Pacific Northwest’s most iconic species, raising awareness of the threats they’re facing, and encouraging everyone to take a small part in protecting orcas.

This month, Georgia Strait Alliance is sharing information with you about the plight of orcas in the hope that you’ll learn about and celebrate orcas, as much as we do. Join us at events taking place throughout June, snap a picture and share it in our summer photo contest, and stay tuned for blog posts, and facts and photos of the day, all in honour of orcas!
